CALLING MUSLIM PHILANTROPISTS OUT THERE....

Last Sunday, I attended my Islamic Wealth Management class. During the break, I have the opportunity to share with my learned professor my idea for my dissertation and I was quite taken aback that my professor requested me to test my theory.

He has requested me to approach Muslim philanthropists in Malaysia to help finance my project and if the theory proves to be a success, then the theory could prove that Islamic financial modes are indeed beneficial to all, i.e., to the individual, to the organization and to the ummah as a whole.

This is indeed a challenge… a challenge that I would take and in case any philanthropists would want to be help finance the undertaking, please feel free to contact me at sweetchild2009@ymail.com. This project is for the purpose of academic and if such theory is a success, then the plan could be implemented nationwide and all the ummah will benefit from it.

This is just a raw idea but I will make the time to come up with the necessary paper work and model….

May Allah swt help ease my path … remember, this is my jihad… and it could be yours, too…

Allahu Akbar!!!!

INSPIRATIONAL POETRY

I have been so swamped lately..so much to do and so little time to complete all the tasks….yes, the new semester has commenced last week….so my stress level has gone up again after a short respite (after I finished sitting for my Shariah Qualifying Exam on 19 August 2009)….

I just need some motivation/inspiration to lift my spirit (there’s so much going-on in my life…the ups and downs….)..anyway, this is my favourite inspirational poem :

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

(Poet: C.W. Longenecker)

As the poet, John McLeod once said,

"Poems are the friends we make them, expressing in words a thought, of happiness, sadness, caring, experience dearly bought."

Very powerful words…indeed….
